DJ Accidentally Shoots Herself In The Face With Confetti Cannon

A DJ who accidentally shot herself in the face with a confetti cannon had to make an embarrassing escape backstage. She suffered from first-degree wounds and burns.

During a high-energy live performance, a DJ suffered a painful and unexpected accident when she accidentally fired a confetti cannon straight into her own face. The impact was strong enough to send her offstage and straight to the hospital.

The incident took place over the weekend at a show in Santa Catarina, Brazil, where DJ Flavinha, whose real name is Flavia Ribeiro, was performing in front of an excited crowd. Everything seemed to be going well until the moment she miscalculated how she was holding the confetti cannon.

As seen in the now-viral video, Ribeiro held the confetti cannon confidently, completely unaware that she was pointing it in the wrong direction.

The crowd watched as, in an instant, the cannon went off, covering her in confetti and knocking her back from the force of the blast.

After the hit, Ribeiro struggled to regain her composure before quickly stepping off the stage.

While the moment left the audience stunned, it was immediately clear that she had been injured.

Despite the pain, Ribeiro refused to leave the performance unfinished. She pushed through and managed to keep going for a little while longer. However, the pain quickly became unbearable, and she knew she had to get medical attention. She later explained that she “couldn’t take any more pain.”.

Footage taken after the incident showed Ribeiro wearing bandages around her neck, with visible scratches on her face, revealing the extent of her injuries.

Recalling the shocking moment, Ribeiro said: “My video is rolling everywhere. There was an accident. I ran behind the sound equipment and kept playing even with a lot of blood dripping, with a lot of pain.”She described how she tried to stay on stage despite the pain: “I threw my hair forward and I stayed there. People on my team wanted to take me out, and I didn’t want to leave.”

Ribeiro pushed herself to continue the set, but the pain was overwhelming. She managed to endure about 20 more minutes before she finally “couldn’t take any more pain” and decided she needed professional medical help.In the end, despite her efforts to stay on stage, she admitted she “couldn’t take any more pain.” and had no choice but to seek treatment.

She later explained: “I left the stage, went to the emergency room of the event, and then to the hospital.”

After the incident, Ribeiro reassured fans, saying: “Now I’m recovering and it’s all right. I’m going to leave the video so you can see what happened because a lot of people texted me. Thank you for the affection, people.”Confetti cannons are a popular stage prop for concerts and festivals in Brazil, as they don’t use gunpowder and are typically powered by gas.

However, their lack of “specific standardization” has raised concerns about safety, with the Santa Catarina Fire Department previously warning that they can be hazardous if not handled correctly.

While they may seem harmless, Ribeiro’s accident serves as a reminder that even something as simple as a confetti blast can cause serious injuries if not used properly.

Such confetti cannons have been mentioned in previous warnings from the Santa Catarina Fire Department. They are a common option for concerts and festivals in Brazil because the cannons used don’t use gunpowder and are typically driven by gas.

The fire department has cautioned, however, that the lack of “specific standardization” in the cannons makes them possibly more dangerous and raises the possibility of an injury.
